The students had an opportunity to meet a professor at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Bertrand Garcia-Moreno, Chair of the Bio-Physics Department, and Calvert parent. He performed exciting demonstrations for them, including levitation, expansion in a vacuum and exploding a solid. Back at Calvert, students had another science treat, chemistry demonstrations with Mr. Little assisted by Mr. Doss. A few examples of the experiments include fighting over pink, recreating the Hindenberg blimp explosion, and making Alka-Seltzer rockets.
